The Bismarcks

Nina Hansell, Gareth Kiddier & Ed Rennie came together as The Bismarcks in 1996 with similar views on the type and style of tunes they wanted to play for dancing. All three musicians have listened to, and played, English music for many years and what unites them is a percussive style of playing. In their selection of tunes for the band, the essential quality they look for is 'danceability'; they are all enthusiastic dancers and always ask themselves "Will this tune make people dance?" Since their debut gig in 1997, The Bismarcks have played for many of the ceilidh clubs up and down the country, as well as festivals in Sidmouth, Chippenham, Dartmoor, Hastings, Whitby and Leipzig, East Germany.
