Rootdogs made their debut in October 2006 at Thatcham's Festival of the Arts.
They are fronted by singer-songwriter Mark T. who has previously worked with artists as diverse as blues players Mike Cooper and Mike Messer, Terry Clarke, Tymon Dogg, Alan Clayson, Paul James of Blowzabella, Tim Hill and Charles Spicer of the Mellstocks and David Jackson of Van Der Graaf Generator.
Essentially a live act, they pump out an exotic mixture of percussion driven, folk influenced, styles ranging from acoustic and World Beat grooves to Blues influenced, Led Zeppelin style treatments of traditional folk songs. The other band members are:
Domo (Drums & Percussion) who also plays with The Original Hoodies, Robb Johnson Band and Secret Archives of the Vatican
Paul Critchfield (Guitars, Vocals, Bass) who plays with a variety of bands including Blue Rocket.
Soaring Eagle (Drums, Percussion, Native American Drums) a Shamanic Drummer and also a member of the Original Hoodies.
