Another sensational coup for Bill this year!
Yes, he has installed Android on his Melodeon turning it into a smartphone. Bill says “This is so cool, I can now phone my friends from the comfort of the hard seats in any session without missing a beat. And whilst playing the tune with my right hand I can use the left hand buttons to send a text to the banjo player telling him that it's his round.”
And it doesn't stop there…..“Yes, also included is a 32.65-V01 gigapixel camera so that I am enabled to photograph any miscreant musician, who is sober, that plays a duff note. And when I lose my way in any tune set I simply squeeze the bellows harder and access Google Earth to tell me not only where I am but where I should be in relation to the bodhran player, how cool is that?”
“There is also a built in diary that gives me the awesome power to mark any music session for the next thirty thousand years and will even prompt as to the exact dates of when the bass player will get drunk (again). The weather app is particularly useful to let me know the atmosphere when I bowl in home a bit tiddly at 2am.”
Bill admits that his melodeon can't always receive a signal but as he says “If it comes to it I could always get some iSpoons.”
Bill is joined at BunkFest by virtuoso fiddle player Ann Tarrant.
