Melanie and Katherine Biggs have been playing music from a young age. It all started when they learned to play the ocarina at First School. Mel has since picked up the flute, melodeon and bodhran whilst Kat, originally playing keyboards, piano and whistles, has recently moved onto piano accordion.
Their style is heavily influenced by their father, Peter, who has been filling the house with traditional Irish and English tunes for as long as they can remember.
After many years dancing and playing for Border Morris sides and taking part in festival sessions they have built up a varied repertoire of traditional British and European dance music.
Freshly Squeezed are very excited to be playing this year’s BunkFest as it will be their first festival appearance!
