Born Wallasey, Cheshire 1944. Moved to Dorset 1962. Rod played solo on the Dorset folk circuit between 1967 and 1970 before forming folk-rock band Reformation with Tony Paul (ex-Wild Honey) and Liz Biddle. After the break-up of the band in 1975, he played in various country bands until coming together with Tony Paul and vocalist Sue Whapples in 1996 and forming Mid-Life Crisis. Rod returned to solo work in 2001 (after Sue Whapples' death) playing at the Blue Boar in Poole. He also played for Wessex Acoustic and Bournemouth Folk Club both as a headline artist and as a support for other acts. This year he has supported both Phil Beer and Fairport Convention.
