It all began a while ago...
... when Bob Wyatt, who was running the Cross Keys at the time, considered hiring a marquee for a forthcoming birthday, decided he was going to buy one instead, started talking to the local folkies, then things got a bit out of hand... and all of a sudden at the end of summer 2002 we had upon us the wonderful mad spectacle that was the first BunkFest. Since then it has just grown and grown - we welcomed 20,000 visitors to the town in 2010 and now we're back in 2011 with our biggest and best BunkFest yet!
Over the years between then and now many tens of thousands of people have enjoyed the unique community atmosphere which the festival generates, the sense of magic, fun, otherness and togetherness which never fails to amuse and amaze its followers. Long may it continue!
